Art Class

A couple days ago I gave y'all a sneak peak of dance class, so today I thought I'd share art class with you! It's taught by Mr. Sanchez, who is from Cuba and also teaches PE for the upper grades at Hummingbird. Mr. Sanchez is super friendly and funny, but not exactly who I 'd picture for an art teacher at a private school. Needless to say, art class is a crazy chaotic hour of every Wednesday for my class, collaborating teacher, and myself, not to mention for Mr. Sanchez!

here's the art room... also known as the gymnasium, dance room, school auditorium, and really anything else you want it to be!

basic materials like paper, glue, and toilet paper rolls were used in class today and, really, during every art class

i love how Lorin is the only one actually looking at me

can you tell what they're making yet??? yeah, me neither!

that's Alex... he cracks me up!

they made airplanes! Ramani and Andrew are too cute!

there's Alex and Andrew again!

After school, the girls and I took a walk to the Museum of Belize. The museum is housed in the old prison and a single original jail cell remains on display for visitors to walk in. Unfortunately, no photography was allowed inside, but we had a pretty fun afternoon learning a little more about Belize's history and seeing some interesting artifacts from hundreds of years ago.

these were some cute houses beside the museum

a baptist primary school across from the museum

senor cocunut! not sure what this is, but we decided it was cute and each needed a picture with the scene... we're such tourists!

we were about 5 feet away from them and they showed no signs of wanting to move... they're so pretty and big!

  2. i love how you're my faitful blog poster!

a woman in a restaurant we popped into after the museum loved my sandals. after we discovered they didn't accept credit cards we had to leave, she offered to buy us dinner if i gave her my shoes. i'm pretty sure she was just kidding, but we decided to scurry out of there quickly with my sandals just in case! lol
