Alright, well enough of me jabbering... just take a look at the pics!
This is a view of the Kings Park area of Belize City (aka my hometown here). I live about a five minute walk from the coastline here.
San Pedro!
We definitely didn't stay here, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't mind staying here!
This is where we stayed.. Hotel San Pedrano. Did I mention it was only $12.50US/night for each of us?
The view from our balcony... about 15 steps to the sand! Everyone rides around on golf carts here. We hitch-hiked Saturday afternoon and a man from Texas drove us back to our part of San Pedro; this was because it was a bit of a walk to where the San Ignacio girls were staying.
The view from our hotel room door. It's not fantastic by any means, but the beach is right on the other side of this building.
1st night there!
Fidos- where we ate dinner the first night and it's right on the beach!
The girls and I at dinner!
Cute park on the beach, complete with a playground for the kids!
And sea creatures for me to sit on! I miss you PC! lol
These huge shells were everywhere!
So Jessica and I went on a walk Saturday morning since we woke up at 6:15am thinking it was like 9:00am. This man was riding a bike with his raccoon and stopped so we could take a pic. When the raccoon starting getting agitated, he would pop him on the head and tell him to behave. His also offered to sell for only $5... we declined.
I can't even describe how pretty the water here was! There's a bit of trash on the sand and in the really shallow water, but it gets really pretty just a couple feet out!
The pretty pool at the San Ignacio girls' condo. We hung out with the girls all day Saturday!
The pool had these cute little swings around it... loved it!
View of the pool area from their balcony.
Wilson!!!
This was on our walk along the beach with lots of pretty private homes. Every had house had pretty docks and boats. I love the chairs at this one!
Love the water color!
All the girls: Me, Rachel, Jessica, Jordan, Erin, and Lexie!
So we heard about this little restaurant that's on a pier and let's you lay on floats in the water... it was the most relaxing afternoon and we got a LOT of sun!
Then, you get to sign the building and dock... we made a tribute to KSU!
We don't really do anything super exciting through the week, so we've decided that it's our goal to just through the school week so we can do something fun on the weekend! Like go the beach!
Dinner with all the girls after a fun day in the sun!!! We all look a little sun-kissed! I felt like it was the middle of the summer!
Yummy banana bread and fruit for breakfast at Lily's Treasure Chest on the beach!
This what we looked at for most of the day on Sunday before heading back to Belize City.
The water was really refreshing and clear!
Our last view of San Pedro... we want to go back!!!
In other news, I had my first observation from my University of Belize supervisor last Friday, and it went really well! The kids were great during the lesson and loved playing with ice during the activity! I'm really excited about teaching "light" this week!
I also wanted to say thanks to all of you for all the comments, emails, and messages that I've received over the last couple weeks. I'm having an incredible time and know for sure that this was an opportunity given to me from Him. Thanks for the all the encouragement, prayers, and interest in what's going on my life. Continue to keep me updated on yours! I think you all should just come down to Belize and have some fun with me!
