Week 4 almost complete!

I feel like my time here is just flying by. The week seems so short, and the weekends even shorter. This week I taught math and science to my 5 year olds, and next week I'm teaching math, science, and phonics... that should be fun! I absolutely love my class and collaborating teacher! Here's the bulletin board I created to display my students' knowledge of light... I think it turned out pretty cute!
They worked in groups to choose pictures that showed things that give us light. They did a super job!

We had a fun week and even got out a couple nights to go to dinner. On Tuesday we went to dinner with one of the teachers at Hummingbird named Nikki. She's really sweet and around our age so it was good to hear about her views of Belize and just get to know her a little better. That night I ordered banana pancakes and they were delicious! Then, Wednesday night we met with one of our supervisors from KSU who is in town for a conference and had another delicious meal. She was so kind to bring us pocket dividers, stickers, a 3-hole puncher, and a bar of chocolate... this pretty much made my day!

Wednesday was also a great day because the girls and I went to the Princess Hotel to work out (we've designated Mon/Wed for working out after school) and then got an awesome surprise when we came home... a 5-gallon jug water dispenser!!! Yay! We've been spending more money than we thought on buying small water jugs that are $2.00, so we mentioned something about a water dispenser to our neighbor and she gave us one the next day! We were pretty excited about it and the larger water jugs only cost $4.50!

The newest addition to our apartment sitting next to the smaller water jugs we've been buying... big upgrade!

Today we went went to the immigration office during school to get an extension on our passports, so we can now officially stay in Belize until May! YAY!

This weekend we're traveling to San Ignacio to spend the weekend with our KSU girls who are student teaching there. We're hoping for good weather so we can see a couple more Mayan Ruins... the weekends just keep getting better!!!
